Default Rally on the Rio 2008

Here are a couple of pics from the three day class I just completed in Pharr, TX. The class was Indian Mask in catalpa or butternut and WoodSpirit in Butternut half log. The instructor was Mart Lind.
I carved an indian in Catalpa, first pic is what I carved, picture was taken while we were putting a finish on the carvings second is the class I was in, I'm the one holding the carving up high...

Why yes I belive it is Tom Henke, he finished the indian mask and did most of the half log woodspirit. I don't know him personally as I wasn't near him in the class but did speak with him a bit and did see Henke on his leather apron and heard other people refer to him as Tom.
I did take a pic of his Indian I'll post it with this message.
I found it and resized it, here is Tom's Indian carving..

BTW his carving was of Catalpa also...

Thank you Randal. I met Tom in 2006 at a Bishop Class in Elk City Ok. He lives part time in Tx and the other part in Mo.
Nice Carvings .

Catapla is one wood I have not carved in. Pretty wood.
