Default Racoon

Here's a little something I made this morning, didn't want to anything fancy. It started out as another dog but the snout was to short so I made it a racoon. It's carved in some pine and painted with acrylics. Hope you like looking at him.

Very nicely done!

Remember a racoon has a wide face and a narrow snout – that along with the colouration (great job, btw) is how you can define it.

Also, I love your knife! What kind is it? And is it Carbon Steel?

Howie... I think it might be an Imperial because the black knife in the picture below is an Imperial it says so on the blade, but the white knife has no name but they look very similar.

It's an imperial knife, btw. The company dates back over 100 years, and closed its doors in 2004. Mother of Pearl handle, two carbon steel blades. The ones going back to the 40s go for about $20 USD on auction sites, and older get much higher.

Love the raccoon. Great little project. I like the knives too. The second knife there, I found a similar one yesterday at a thrift shop. It was a 52-73 Schrade Walden Serpentine Stockman. I was very happy, but the blades were not sharp enough to cut butter. Much sharpening work on those three blades.
