Default Quick and easy vice / hold down

I have had this hold down that I have used over the last 20 years or so, perhaps most of you have one but maybe some of the beginers might find it handy.
Its made of 3/4 inch hardwood, this one is maple. Its 8 inches wide by 10 inches long. The end pieces are 2 inches by 8 inches and glued and screwed to the ends.
No need to attach it to the work bench, its portable and works really well while making long cuts with you chisels.

It's called a 'bench hook', and to make it even more versatile, you can add a piece along one side. I'm right handed, so my piece is on the right.
