Default Question about tracing paper

I have a question about using tracing paper. I just bought some and thought I would try it. I have never used it. I have cut out patterns and and then traced around them on the wood and I have used carbon to transfer patterns. I have followed several discussions about using tracing paper. I thopught the instructions would be on the pack but they are not. Would someone please tell me how to use the tracing paper??????

I read something recently wherein the author recommended that one use a red ball point to do the tracing with. I wasn't really sure why except that maybe that would allow one to know which lines had already been traced.

Have you ever used graphite paper? I like it better than carbon paper.

On occasion, I will simply glue the pattern to the wood and go from there. When I do, I use the glue in the aerosol can and just spray the back of the pattern lightly.

I've left plenty of room for people to improve on my response...

tracing paper is just for copying a design or something from a paper, book or some other source, just lay the tracing paper down and you can see thru it to draw the lines.....as for copying (carbon) paper...I prefer the graphic paper, doesn't leave those blue lines that are very hard to get off.
