This is the time of the year when carvers can show off their skills by carving pumpkins and putting them out on their front porch. For a few dollars you can purchase a medium sized pumpkin and in less than two hours have a great carving. If it does not go well you can always make a pumpkin pie. I have put together a few websites that will give an idea what can be done with a pumpkin. I was amazed at the artistry of these carvers. Ray Villafane is a professional carver who won the Food Network Pumpkin Carving chalenge. This website is a step by step tutoria by Scott Cummins: Tutorial : Pumpkingutter Press This website is Scott Cummins gallery- years of inspired pumpkin carving: gallery of pumpkins: Pumpkingutter Pumpkin Carvings The following is Ray Villafane's work : Ghoulishly grand carved pumpkins - TODAY I have included below one of Ray Villafane's pumkins from the Today show- note I checked for copyright- did not find indication that the photo is copyrighted.- It is one of the pumpkins shown on the above website of Ray Villafanes work. I will be carving some pumpkins just before Halloween and will post them. Unfortunately they don't last more than a few days. |
