Default progress on the king

Hi, it's been a while since my last post about this project but i've really been moving very slow especialy now that i'm nearing the end.I have the hair about where i want and will be working more on the detail the teeth are marked in, in pencil i'l be taking my time on thoses. I'm really having a time deciding on the type of eyes. I usually use the eye with the hanging pupil, but i'm kinda thinking about using astreight on eye with a indented pupil. Well take a lok and let me know what you think.

Looks great! Sorry, I can't advise on eyes either, but I'm sure you'll get them right.

hi feb, you made nice progress. i think he is now be recognised by everyone who sees your carving (we dont count, since you told us who you want carve ;-) ...but you got the essential points where they should be, and this is a good job done :-) ... with the eyes, of course, its a matter of taste how you want carve them, so i cannot say "carve them like this or like that", and there are so many possibilities for realistic eyes, you certainly want have on a carving like this...i suggest to carve on a test piece, where you carve first an eye like on your carving, and maybe carve a bit of the brow and nose too, and then carve on the test piece an pupil you consider as a possibility to choose. this way, you can see how it looks in real when you carve it. when you like it, you have carved in once already, and it is easier to do on your main carving ...
it is not a bad thing to take many time for a carving. on contrary, this way you will be able to really do it the way you want and not rush it. so, dont worry on that. you are doing fine... yes, the teeth can be tricky, so small space to move the tools there, but on elvis certainly one thing needed :-) ... thanks for sharing

The carving looks great, but-- if you are going to have "nanners" in the picture with Elvis, you have to include peanut butter, and bacon if you have it. No wonder he was in such great shape

( for those unfamiliar- Fools Gold Loaf- was a hollowed out loaf of bread and filled with peanut butter, bannanas and bacon. I read where he ate a whole loaf on a flight one time. )
