Default power tool or edged tool?

Are these carved with a power tool or an edged tool?

Hard to say for sure without looking even closer but my vote would be for power.

It looked to fine to me for a edged tool, at least my tools are not that sharp.

Too thin to stand up to the pressure of a gouge. If it's wood (looks plastic) had to be done with power.

Grinling Gibbons did incredibly delicate work with edge tools. The clue for me is the unevenness of the lines in the leaves. If the the carver is skilled enough to carve this with edge tools, I believe the lines would be more precise.

is that even wood? the base and frame are wood for sure, but the cheapest china can mass produce. the corners of the frame are not even mitered, they are just butt joined and machined afterwards. and the base is made of two different colour wood with the biscuit joint showing on the side. if i were to make something half as delicate as that i would probably choose something descent to display it.

cheers

Dont think the top picture is wood [ if it is where's the detail ?? ], as for the rose I'd use edged to do it.
