Default Power Chisels

Greetings

I'm thinking of buying a power chisel. Has any one tried the Skil 1910 Scraper / Carver tool? Ive entered a carving compation in Campbell River where they provide you with a ceader tree to transform into a work of art in 5 days. So I need to move alot of wood fast. I do have chain saw, angle grinders etc but never tried the power chisel.

Elmer,
As you know I have entered the same competition and do so every year. I take my 1910 with me to do the detail work but wait till you see the size of those logs there is no way to remove that much wood with a power chisel. I have an Arbortech that I am taking this year that removes wood faster than any chisel I know but even with those logs it is a little small. BTW you never know what kind of log you are getting sometimes its red cedar but sometimes it is Douglas Fir or Spruce it is the luck of the draw. These guys remove a lot of wood fast with chainsaws some of them have 36' and 48' blades you will be amazed at these guys I spend a lot of the time just watching them. See you at the end of the month, do you know where you are staying yet?

Sorry Elmer, don't know anything about power chizels, but I do wish you joy in your adventure to Campbell River. I've seen the photos of the event that Colin linked us through to, looks like a marvelous time.

I do hope that there will be a good set of photo's of this years event. I for one, would love to see what the two of you get up to! You both do splendid work.

Bob
