Default Power Carving

I am new to the list and need to find someone who can cut 100 pair of gun grips with a thumb rest, or find out how i can do them myself. Any and all help is appreciated. 8)

Paul, I hate to be a wet blanket, here, but there are gun grips like that available commercially for pretty reasonable prices. Â*If you were making a few custom grips for individuals, it would make sense to do them yourself, but a hundred pair, seems to be way out of the 'custom' category.

You might try Â* Â*

www.brownells.com Â*

Â*for a source. Â*They are one of hundreds of shooting supply and gun smithing supply sources. Â*No need to re-invent the wheel

If you have a pair that you would like to make 100 copies of, the most economical route may be to build a duplicator, and duplicate them yourself. If you need checkering, that's a different story. You could build a duplicator for around 200 bucks, Here's a site that sells the plans http://www.copycarver.com/. I think it would be do-able for you, if you don't think you could handle it, email me, I have been taking on all kinds of jobs lately.

I would also be interested in doing a few of these for you. Would these by any chance be for match air pistols? Would you be having these done in Walnut? Are they a one piece grip or two? I have done a few of these in Cocobolo and Walnut for the IZH 46 match pistol.

Yes, these are gun grips, but they fit on a car gear shifter by Hurst. They were originally installed in the 70 to 74 Chrysler 4 speed cars, but nowadays, they can be found on many ohter cars. I make these shifters, and have had the wood handles made before, but need more. I would like to make them, so i will check into the suggestions i received. Thanks Paul 8)
