I order carving items by priority mail. Paid a good bit for the shipping....and I have not had a problem in the past. But this one got lost in the mail....and the number I called the post office lady was rude, rude. Not sure if she had a bad day, but she made it clear the post office is not responsible for lost mail, unless it has a tracking number and is insured. The post office here, lady was nice but repeated the same thing. I had no idea they are not responsible for lost mail... unless it has insurance. The manufacture of the items was honorable and will send a new items.... but darn it all someone lost money. And even this manufacture asked," if the post office was rude??"....I said, " Yes...yes... they were!" She said sorry they are like that... What happen to the days about your mail will come rain, snow, and whatever? Just posted this to warn anyone getting things mailed...if the person you order from does not take responsible action you are out of the money for the goods you order. Plus you must request a tracking number when you get priority mail. otherwise if they sent to the moon...they do not care. Another lesson in life..... Di

Sorry to hear that Dileon, I have been there also with the P.O., ordered a Ralph Long knife, Mr. Long sent it in a tube package, it was delivered with one end open and the knife gone. I got such a run around at the P.O., seemed like they did not even care ! Dave |

it fits with the general attitude of society-- no one accepts responsibilty-- if something bad happens to me-- it must be someone elses fault-- ship fed ex-- more money- but its insured for a minimum of $100.

I can't think of the name of the form, but it only costs I think 35 cents...and the receiving party has to sign for the item...forces post office to do their job...naturally, it costs us more......doesn't everything?

ive sent a few things by certified mail-- it got lost and there is still no way of tracking it-- you must insure it and get return reciept in order to get it tracked- i recently bought a book from little rock ark. im in kc-- i figured 3-4 days to kc-- on the fourth day-- i checked on it-- it was in california-- but they knew where it was-- it took 9 total days to get to me

You need to purchase insurance for your packages otherwise if it gets lost or damaged, the P.O. is not going to cover it. Adding a tracking # or signature confirmation won't mean your are covered either. Our Sorry you got a rude employee. Our P.O. was like that for years, but finally...we have a nice group of people working in our P.O. |
