Default Positive experience purchasing wood.

I ordered wood a few days ago from Heinecke Wood Products

I was so impressed with their service and the quality of the wood. Prices are fantastic and the wood came shipped super fast! They sent me the wood with an invoice and it took only a couple days.

I purchased mostly 1x1 and 2x2 pieces. Perfect for santas and hillbillies! I wont run out of wood for a long time

One of the best things about our woodcarving world is that it is filled with nice outfits to deal with. But, it is extra special when the folks you are dealing with are as nice as Dale and Marge.

I have dealt with the Heinecke's, both in person and through the mail. You just can't go wrong with them.

I agree Paul. We have some fine dealers in the carving world. I've not had but one problem in 3+ years and got that one worked out. I do a lot shopping from the net and it's been trouble free.

Some carving suppliers will even send you the order with an invoice and not charge you up front, they take personal checks even. I've had other hobbies and it is rare indeed that you find people this trusting.

I had a terrific experience dealing with them last month as well (Heinecke Wood Products) and showed my new stash to two other carvers who will also order from them now. In the south, our basswood is not as white or as soft as what comes from up there.
One of the carvers remarked that she always picks through all of the stock before she finds the right pieces, and when she looked through my recently delivered box, she admitted she would have chosen every one of those pieces.
It's a very good supplier with excellent prices.
Oh, and they billed me after they sent the wood.

i'm pleased to hear such positive comments.

i've dealt with exoticwoodgroup.com and they have been very nice and easy to deal with. plus, they have a great supply and a very good web site. good prices and fast shipment.

the thing is; in this hobby, don't go looking for wal mart prices when searching for wood. if you do, you'll be disappointed unless you can sight shop at a local sawmill, which won't have purple heart, mahogany, etc.

As my kids might put it - Heineke is da bomb!! My wife & daughter and I are going to be doing up a bunch of Cindy Jostlyn's Santa ornaments, as well a few Cipa Santa's over the next few weeks for gifts, so I'll be ordering more soon.

Can't go wrong with Heineke.

That is good to hear, another excellent supplier to do buss. with is The Woodcraft Shop, they also send you an invoice with your order, which comes super fast. Also the S+H is the actual PO charge plus $1.00, I have ordered one knife from them and the S+H is around two bucks, you can't beat that. Nice friendly folks !!

Do you know if they will cut the wood to specific lengths and widths for you, or is it all just standard cuts?
