PLEASE READ! :(

My Yahoo ID Pyrogite has been hacked. Someone took over my ID on Sept. 7 2003. I have no idea how this happened or who did it, or why anyone would do this.

Please DO NOT OPEN or reply to any email from pyrogite@yahoo.com . If you use Yahoo messenger, please put pyrogite on ignore. I have had this yahoo ID since the very first day I was online in 1998, so it will affect a lot of people. Please pass this information on to anyone who might need to know, I am doing my best to get the information out, but I can't even imagine how many people might open an email from me (not really from me) and I need all the help I can get.

Please pass this info on to all who might be affected.

Yes Al, I did send that. They didn't take over my account until Sunday evening. I still had access to it Sunday morning. Now they have changed my profile and there is nothing I can do about it. I haven't heard a thing from yahoo beyond form letters.

Donna, how terrible! Hi Ho's right, they are everywhere, our 'snail mail' has shown up missing a couple times (that we know of) in the past two months. So far nothing important or that couldn't be replaced (bills, etc.) but it is a worry just what's going on. One has to keep a sharp eye out everywhere these days. So sad!! Callynne

Good things CAN happen! LOL
After about 15 emails back and forth with Yahoo, they fINALLY gave me my ID back
that Brassafrattinmockanoid that took it didn't get to keep it LOL. This time I have a password that will not be easy to figure out, but I am going to be cautious with that ID until I'm sure the Brassafrattinmockanoid can't get back in.

I feel sooooo relieved! They didn't do any damage beyond deleting my friends from my messenger and changing my profile. It could have been so much worse!
