| | Pictures from Cambell River BC Hi gang firstly let me apologize for not being here very much sometimes. This is my really busy time and I am on the road a lot and when I am not I am probably up a tree somewhere. So If I dont reply to the threads sometimes it is because either I do not have access to a computer or I am just plain busy. Here are some more pictures of the competition I was at two weeks ago. You can tell its raining here today I get to play on the computer and start those cane segments for the open house. Anyway here are some of the carvings that won awards I will put the pictures into the next two threads because one thread only takes five pictures.

| | Re: Pictures from Cambell River BC Colin, thanks a lot for the pictures. These are really talented people at the top of their craft and it shows. Great imagination and great implementation. I would have loved to have seen it it person. I have gone there in the past to fish before I started carving but have not made it back since I started carving.

| | Re: Pictures from Cambell River BC My carving will be sitting outside of the Oyster Bay Resorts about 15 minutes from Campbell River. That is where I stayed they have requested my carving. He will sit there over looking the Georgia Straights and the Rocky Mountians I couldnt imagine a better place to be if I were a carving. BTW there are probably about 400 of these carvings now around the town of Campbell River most of them are quite visable as you drive around town either outside of business or on the sea wall. If you ever go and want to know where my carvings are they are as follows: Best Western, Ford Dealer, Toyota Dealer, Willow Point (on the sea wall) and Oyster Bay Resorts. Most of the carvings are in excess of 6 feet in height and three feet in diameter. They are all done out of either Douglas Fir or Red Cedar.
If you are planning a trip that way I would highly recommend Oyster Bay Resorts they are individual Chalets complete with two people jackuzi and all are house keeping chalets. The view is out of this world. Here is their web site if your interested. http://www.oysterbayresort.com
I have also included pictures of where I stayed and the carving competition before the chainsaws were started.

| | Re: Pictures from Cambell River BC Thanks Colin, great carvings. I can imagine that is one of the biggest rewards in attending the event, getting to see and work alongside those great talents. Of course they are saying the same about you, but it is great to get to share your passion for wood in person!
Great job.
