Default pics from bark spirit face class

I taught a Cottonwood Bark Spirit Face Class Oct. 23 & 24, 2010. We stayed very busy as none of the students had ever carved like this before. So busy we didn't make any pictures.

The local carving club president (Dave Sikkelee) stopped by and made these photos during the class.

There were five students, they had all done small caricatures and relief carving with palm gouges. By Sunday evening I was exhausted. We had a great time. The club is trying to get me to schedule another class in January.

Oh boy - bark carving! I'm just starting to use cottonwood and from the looks of the carved face it looks like I could have learned some things there.

I'd love to see more of your work!
