Default Photo updates

Doris was kind enough to make a photo template for the Gallery Photo's on our blog. Well I'm trying my best to make some use of it.
I've loaded several more pages of pictures of a variety of my projects. Some complete,,some in the process. But I think there is a fairly wide range of styles and subjects to choose from. Take a look and I hope you enjoy them.
And as always any questions are welcome.

Thumbs up Re: Photo updates

Mark,

Every time I go to your blog/gallery, I'm floored by the quality of your craftsmanship!! The Lions are fantastic. I love that the customer requested one be snarling & the other plain faced. You did a super job on those. After going through the entire Shroud of Turin series, I'm speachless. That has to be the MOST REALISTIC rendition of Christ, our Lord, I've EVER seen!! The way you went about the mock-up version before you started the wooden version was ingenious!! The eagle on the rocks with the Holy Bible is incredible. The deep relief in the Merion plaque is beautiful. You are truly a gifted person with a
re(MARK)able (pun intended) talent of great potential. Thank you so much for sharing & being an insirational source for amatures like myself. Looking @ your carvings are shear pleasure. Keep on carving!!

Dan

Wow Dan, thank you so much. You're being a bit more than just kind.
The lions were fun to do even with the limited space. I had the opportunity to do two full size pieces with a friend. I don't post them because they weren't completely mine..but they were incredible I think.
The Shroud was a particular favorite piece for me to do. I have a complete portfolio of the step by step process of probably 75-100 photo's. Doris was so thoughtful ( and resourceful) to be able to put up that story for me to at least show part of the process.
She is now going about assembling the entire story for the carving of the Eagle. I think once that's posted you should get a kick out of it as well. It too starts with a clay mock-up to the end and all the symbolism I included. I also carved a wooden chisel to look like a real chisel that is included as well.
The Merion sign,, a bit rough in that picture as I was still carving it,, but you seem to get the idea of what it was about. The rest of the mantle ( sorry no photo's) was just massive with the rest of the moldings I carved,,the capitals,,two sets of 4 columns.
Anyway,,I'm glad you enjoyed the photos and our blog. Thank you for stopping in and seeing what we are about. And if there are any questions or comments ( anyone, everyone) don't be shy to post them.

Again, amazing stuff. I am always stunned by the amount you carve. Those are big, elaborate pieces, and perfectly done. Thanks for sharing and I really like your blog. Mike
