I have a pfeil roughing out knife, but not sure if it is the same model number... I really like that knife and pick it up often.

Ok thanks I done more reading on them and think madeup my mind to purchase one. At first it seemed alittle pricy but you get what you pay for I learned that along time ago when was a machinist and autorepair mechanic. It dont pay to skimp on tools.

I have a few Pfeil knives and once honed they are good knives.

That one is a bit more pricy than the other ones but it looks like it is worth it.

I sanded the corners a bit on mines and varnished them...

I have one but don't like it at all, had to be sharpened / honed before first use. The handle in my opinion is not very comfortable at all ! I love their palm tools but don't care for their knives. (just my opinion)

Bob, I have a couple of sets of Pfeil palm carving tools and love them but I have purchased other brands within that price range due to them being already sharp and ready to carve... Drake knives are certainly within that price range and come scary sharp and beautifully finished and come with a life-time sharpening service so I knew I couldn't loose after trying one...now I own 4 and ready to order another...love them! Hock knives as well as Flexcut are great knives also...as you look over other posts I'm sure you'll see others who agree and have thier own personal choices too... I just hate to sharpen a new knife when I feel it should be sold scary sharp... Good luck and great carving on whatever you purchase...
