For you bear affecionado's out there.... While at Borders this weekend while enjoying a cup of coffee and a sweet roll, and thumbing through another carving magazine that will remain herein nameless, at least from these lips, I ran across a neat pattern for a standing bear. Instead of providing step by step carving photos the author provides photos of the different stages of carving. Alternate facial patterns are provided so that you can carve it fierce or friendly. According to the layout it's for 3"x3" but I'm going to try it at 2" x 2" because that's the largest stock that my scrollsaw can handle.
