Hey Everybody, Just a little painting tip for those who may have trouble or just are looking for something different. You can always use fabric paint for your carvings. This dries quick and gives your pieces some dimension. I've got Santa in mind as I type this, but Im sure it can be used for anything. If you wanna add little decorative dots for instance, just squeeze out a drop and let it dry. Then, instead of just being a flat dot, you can feel it. Just a thought that popped into my big fat head. Jillsy, that is good to know...most of us crafty folks have a little bit of everything laying around and it always makes me feel better about having so much "stuff" when you can use it in different ways. Good Thinking!

Excellent tip Jillsy! This suggestion was passed on to me by a friend a couple of years ago in regards to eyes. As a result I keep a 1-oz bottle each of white, black, blue and brown. You can get that raised feel with one application but if you let it cure 72-hours and apply a second coat it will get you a nice protrusion that when painted makes for a good looking eye. If you've ever looked at the eyes on my bears you may have detected that they protrude. The fabric paint is why....and it's so cheap!
