The Arrowhead Neckerchief slide I demonstrated making on my blog is on it's way to the National Jamboree at Fort A.P.Hill, Virginia. I held a little contest with the winner being the first photo submitted of an active Scout in uniform. It was won by Colin from Utah. Here's a link to the Blog post showing the winner and the slide:OutWestWoodCarving: First Scout Gets It! - Update! Here's the link to the video on making it: OutWestWoodCarving: Boy Scout Neckerchief Slide – How To Carve One

Very cool carving, but most of all, thank you for getting involved and contributing to something so fundamentally important as the Scouting program.

Excellent videos, Lynn! Wish I'd had them for my Scouts back when I was a Scoutmaster. Should be required viewing for the woodcarving merit badge at the Jamboree. Claude |

Thanks for giving a Scout the gift. My best friend and his son(adult son now) leave today to serve as staff at the Jamboree. I don't get to go this year due to my health problems, will sure miss the fun of working at the National jamboree...anybody close to fort AP Hill, you need to go visit. To be among 20-30 thousand Scouts all in uniform is a heartwarming experience. Also, this is suposed to be the last Jamboree held at AP Hill, ending a long tradition. Thanks again to Lynn for his support of Scouting.

Congratulations to you Lynn, and to Colin. A most fitting place for your slide to make an appearance. Tom |
