Hey guys I`ve not been around for awhile and have to hold up on the carving for a spell due to a "trigger finger" in my knife hand and a "rotative cuff" in the other shoulder. Tis a right pain and after having steroid injections is not getting any better. It may come down to an op to sort it. We have had the coldest monthly period of cold weather for ages in these parts which does not encorage much activity. (Average of -1C for Dec) But, I have a few ideas and will be carving again shortly. I know its a little late but from this side of the pond I wish you all the best for 2011 and keep those blades sharp. Robert of Yorkshire.(England) |

Sorry to hear about that Robert.... I've had both of those problems, or something similar - a trigger "thumb" and a "frozen" shoulder actually. Shots helped, but I still have a little pain in the thumb. |

Robert, so sorry to hear about your health issues. If surgery is your only option, I wish you good luck and good health. Oh, and if you go the op way, I hope you get a surgeon that's as good with a knife as you are.

Happy New Year to you as well, and well wishes for your ailments. Colder here this year than usual as well. We are expecting more snow tonight, and I live in the deep south! Stay warm. Christina |

Hey Robert...really sorry to hear about your situation. BUT, in the meantime......if you will send me your tools, sharpening stones, patterns and wood, I will make sure they stay sharp and well used until you are better able to keep them company. Hey, what are friends for???

Robert, Sorry to hear about your ailments. I have had trigger finger in both hands for more than 20 yrs. Some days worse than others. Makes changing tools while holding on to a ladder difficult because I have to pry me fingers open. Carving is another story. It has never made the condition any worse. I also don't drop my knife. LOL I try to keep my elbow against my body to avoid shoulder pain. Bill K.
