Default Old Man Leaning on Hand

Just playing around again as I got lots of this birch in my garage. I went with a more cartoony look and gave this fella a different type of eyes and decided to have him leaning on his hand part way through the carving. When I shared it with my other half, she thought he was "flipping the bird" to someone so I had to relief another finger to be sure his hand gesture wasn't offending anyone. He is a little over a foot and a half, and sealed with oil, satin sealer and dark liquid wax. Be gentle regarding the hand...its my first one I ever carved.

Patrick, nice carving. I don't think it has a cartoony look at all. I have a lot of trouble with hands myself. I think the proportions between the knuckels is off a bit, but a good first try.

Patrick, well done and your carving has something to say. Thanks for letting us "listen" to the "man leaning on hand." Don

Good facial expression. I like the way his lips swings up above his finger.
