Default Off to Ridgway PA next week

You all may think I am out of my carving slump, not so I think all this snow is getting to me. I am heading to Ridgway PA next week to the largest chainsaw carving event in the world bar none. As of this date there are 244 of us from all over the world heading to the little town of Ridgway for a week of fun and commradship. We all produce a chainsaw carving out of a tree stump. All the carvings are then put on two or three large flat bed trailers and then auctioned off on the Saturday to the highest bidder. All the proceeds go to the "Make a Wish" foundation last year I believe we raised over $45,000 for the cause. If any of you live close please come down and say hello you will be in awe of some the carvings these guys produce. I will be there again this year. Bob Jenkins (Bob's Birds) will be making the trip with me this year. Sure hope I get out of this slump before I go.Here are a few pictures of past years events.
Colin

I am totally jealous. I have been trying to figure out for 3 months how to get to Ridgeway. I wanted to carve and learn. I could not get the time off from work and it is too long a drive for 3 days..... So, I will leave it up to you!

It is a great cause, I hope you have fun and I hope it helps your slump.

Greg

My relatives are from that area. I haven't been there in years. The relatives are all deceased now. It's about a three + hour drive for me to get there. I doubt that I'll make there anytime soon tho. I used to go the the Cook's Forest Sawmill. There are many carvers there with displays. A friend of mine sold a lot of his carvings there to tourists during the summertime. It closes during the winter months.

Colin, if that doesn't get your chain pulled, then you need a vacation. I'm one of the green ones. I've been wanting to attend Ridgeway since I heard about it years ago.
Someday, someday.
Have a great time and carve something wonderful.

Well as the first real winter storm seems to be heading in today, I can now blame it on Colin =)

Colin looking forward to seeing you next week, I am trying to have Goody come with us , but I am not sure it is going to work since he is in Cleveland this week. But I won't give up till I make the final phone call.

If there is anything extra you need shout mate , the few things we spoke about are taken care of, if not will see you next Thursday .

Garry

Hey Colin, you have a great trip and week! That should be a lot of fun and will certainly get you out of your slump. There should be tons of great ideas there too. So enjoy yourself, and take lots of pictures to share with us when you get home.

Bob

Hey Colin, I wondered if you were coming down this year. I hope we can make it up, good thing it's not this week, they're calling for twelve inches of snow!!

If you need some R&R time, let us know, the guest bedroom is always available! Deborah
