Default October Renegade Woodcarvers Round-up

Am having a great time this week. I was a bit hesitant to sign up for this since I have only been carving for 8 weeks...but like Steve Brown told me when I asked him...you have to start learning somewhere. I love the idea of having a different instructor each day. It is set up very well so that you have lots of time to carve and several times throughout the day with one to one help where you need it. There are also lots of roughouts to choose from to carve and you get to have a "go by" in front of you while you carve. It is great to be able to turn it around and view it from all angles while you learn to carve it. Everyone there is great and I am enjoying meeting other carvers and getting tips from them. Not only a great learning experience...but they have lots of fun throughout the week.
Steve came up and asked me what I thought of the Round-up on my second day and my best answer was to hand him my application for the March Round-up! :-)
Hope to see some of you there in March.

Hugh Davis received first, Dale Kirkpatrick second and Wade Harvey third in the whittling contest. Theme was Halloween. Thanks Neil for the pics.
