Default Obsessed with detail

Last night I was up late making brass hardware for a cannon. I wasn't happy with what I found for sale so I decided to make my own. As I soddered each minscule joint, it hit me that I may have a problem... I have become obsessed with detail. Can anyone reccomend a good therapist or over the counter treatment?

Dan

Ya, if ya setle down with a bottle of Cutty Sark, your attention to detail will pass. And the headache the next day should keep it under control for that day, too. I wouldn't recommend this for long term treatment, however!

Dan-I think it is catchy I suffer to,but Kentucky Tavern-a cheap bourbon-will do just fine.

Symptoms getting worse. Carved a 1" rat to abandon the ship. Had to add fur and a long skinny tail...

Detail is fine as long as it doesn't take away from the essence of the piece and should be consistent with the scale and proportions.

It also depends on who you're marketing to. Sculptures sold in high end galleries tends to focus on movement and emotion rather than detail (generally). Capturing the most with the least has always been the earmark of a master.

I posted the photos under "Abandon Ship" Complete in general wood carving. Merv, I'm afraid I went the other way altogether on this one. Probably overdid it. Well, the next one will be a lot more basic.
