Talking New Years Eve Spoon

What better way to bring in the New Year, then to carve something. I had roughed out the bowl of this spoon some weeks ago. The Blank I had ripped think I would get back into Chip carving. Well New Year's Eve the kids are old enough to do there own thing so I saw that spoon bowl started. So I looked through a few patterns and started sketching. he is what resulted.

Nice spoon! What kind of wood is it? I hung out out with my 11 year old grand daughter to bring in the New Year. Everyone else pooped out early! It was fun.
