I just finished a new walking stick, first time with carving a duck.....put it on a sassafras stick...its in pic trails under walking sticks..boy, isn't that inventive! : :P
Nice stick!
Great feather job, I'm just doing a bear and using the same technique with a V gouge. Is the eye glass or did you create that with paint and epoxy? Is Sassafras difficult to carve or is it relatively soft?
lets see...the eye is carved and is acrylic and treasure kote, the feathers were done with a stone on a dremel and I really didn't carve much on the sassafras other than to remove the bark and sand...but yes it is really dense.
