| | New unusual Beech cane woodspirit This Beech wood spirit is not finished and was carved yesterday in green Beech that I just found the other day, I also have another piece just like it for a cane.
Colin suggested I carve it while green due to the hard nature of Beech. It is sealed with minwax natural and will dry for 6 months or so before I finish it. Mike

| | Re: New unusual Beech cane woodspirit Hey Kenny, that is way too cool! How deep does that hole go down in the top? Super carved "Spirit" too! The whole stick shouts of character!!! What a great combination.

| | Re: New unusual Beech cane woodspirit Mike you could look for the rest of your life for a stick like that and never find one. Outstanding stick and outstanding carving. If it was my stick I wouldnt sell it as it is so unique. It is something you could pass down for generations to come. When ever I do a unique stick my grandsons always claim them they have quite the collection of my carvings. I think you will have no problem with the stick even though it is green you have sealed it and it is hollow so as long as you dry it where the air can circulate around it it should be just fine.

| | Re: New unusual Beech cane woodspirit Thanks guys, but I lucked out and found two of them side by side and almost identical. I'm working on the other one now with another wood spirit. The sticks look like twins,Lol. The carvings look a little rough but once they dry I will finish them up properly, Mike
Bob, On both sticks the hole is all the way through the "Bulb" on top.I think one of the pics I posted shows that but maybe not to well. Mike

| | Re: New unusual Beech cane woodspirit Nancy, Never carved Persimmon but I have carved apple and peach and they are both good when really dry. If you carve to soon it wont take detail very well, chips real easy. Mike
