I just cant get a good price or something to sell them...I get the feeling if I put for free or for $10.. they would take them , but at that rate I will give them to the Rellys lol makes me more happy anyways to see the excitment on the faces of my cousins when I give away one of them... |

I have sold a couple, but I try to put an honest price on them. If you think it is worth $10.00 then it is worth $10.00. I usally look at what would I pay. But I also think you have to consider, how much did I put into it. Stain , finish , sandpaper , paint brushes, all have a cost associated with them, so does our time. So what your really asking is how much am I worth. Only you can answer that. But if I put a weeks work into the carving , well to sell that carving for $10.00 I would be paying the person to take it, and would be giving myself a very low value. Ash |

Nice stick, Maple is a tough wood to carve. I sell canes, and have a back log of orders for them, and charge a fair price. Takes me forever to do things, so I don't charge by the hour, just a ball park figure of what I think they are worth, and get it. I took some ideas for pricing from a web site of another cane carver here in Canada and his prices seem reasonable. $200 to $350 +/- depending on the usual factors, type of wood, amount of carving, etc. Bob
