Default New spoon carving

Hello everyone,

I seldom post pics of any of my carvings but wanted to post this one since it's a little different. I started with a scrap piece of Basswood that was left over from other works with the idea of trying to make something to prevent wasting the wood. This is the end result. It's supposed to be a Dogwood flower with leaves and finished with lacquer to keep the "natural" look which is my wife's preference.

Thanks for looking.

Robert

Very well carved, I like the floral design. Sure beats throwing away a good scrap of wood.

This is a very appealing spoon! I agree with your wife, the natural finish looks great.

Thanks for looking, folks, and thanks for all the kind words. This one was fun since I had no pattern to use.
