Default New spoon

Well, I got myself a spoon knife so I thought I'd try it out. Here it is - the Runespoon! (I couldn't resist carving something on it and the wood's a bit splintery, so I thought I'd try some runes ). Sorry the pics so fuzzy, the light was a bit bad for my phone. I need a decent camera!

Blimey Claude, that was quick!

Of course I can translate, but that'd spoil the fun
Only kidding, it's nothing sacred It says Hrafn rist runar, which means Raven carved the runes

That's a great looking spoon, even without the runes. Nice deep bowl.

Thanks
Runes are an old form of writing used by the Vikings. They were meant to be carved which is why they are all straight lines. There's quite a few different runic scripts, this is from the Elder or Common Germanic Futhark
