Default New Santa Christmas Tree

Here is the first Christmas Tree carving that i have done and will be doing more.

Any comments to make them better please let me know.

Cute idea, they look neat...I might have to make a couple of those myself to sit around during the holiday.

A couple of things to maybe make them look a little better. The eyes in your carving are just a touch high on the face in relation to the nose. Look in the mirror and see that the upper part of your eye socket is pretty much even with the bridge of the nose..not sitting above the nose. If you lower your eyes down and have them sit alongside the nose it will look more natural.
Second, other than startled or surprised folk, you usually don't see much or any white of the eye above the pupil. (Marty Feldman was an exception, but he had exopthalmos, a medical condition). Try to indicate an upper lid and shoe just the lower 2/3 of the pupil if possible.

Just small suggestions, and they aren't necessary if you like the look you have. Caricature doesn't have to be just like real life, but being close often makes the exaggerated portions more effective.

you are doing good, and again, I really like your tree-guy.
