Default New Member with Basswood

A new member, Michael M requested to post some basswood he has for sale. Apparently runs a small mill operation turning out mostly hardwoods, but did some basswood that doesn't seem to move well.......belive it or not, there is a small market for the stuff. Anyway, he'll be posting his contact info on the board soon. (cleared with admin)

Al, Thanks for the introduction. I am ashamed to say that I am not a carver (Yet)Talking . I stumbled upon this site while searching for persons looking for Basswood and my search brought me here. I saw and sell Hardwoods (part time) located about 30 miles North of Pittsburgh Pa. I have a couple thousand feet of 4/4 Basswood that was sawn at 1 1/8" thick. I also have about 300 Board Feet of 8/4 as well. Widths range from 5" to 14". If anyone is interested in any amount you can let me know via pm here or my e-mail dynamike1@zoominternet.net Price is $2.50 per board foot plus shipping and I will cut to what ever lengths you desire. Here is a pic of a narrower piece and just a few hundred feet in a stack. Thank You.

Mike

Looks like nice wood. Is it air or kiln dried? Too bad that you don't have it in 12/4 and 16/4 thicknesses.

It was all air dried about a 1 1/2 years. About 750 B.F. I put in the kiln and really didn't get much out of it. It was air dying a year. Next time I run into nice basswood logs I will saw it 12/4 and 16/4
