Default New Gnome!

I have posted before that I carve while having my morning coffee at the diner in town. I usually carve several Santa ornaments. I recently decided to expand these morning coffee carvings to include little Gnomes. This little Gnome is 3 3/4 inches tall with his hat. It's carved out of a 3/4 x 3/4 inch x 4 inch piece of Basswood. I can just about get one carved during the morning coffee. More difficult to paint. But I can't seem to keep them, they keep disappearing.

Thanks Mark and Merle. But I never said just one cup of coffee. Actually it's several, over an hour and a half. But these too seem to be addictive.

I've done about six of these out of the 3/4"x3/4" basswood. Tomorrow I'll start on the 1/2"x1/2" basswood. I might be pushin my limits though.

These are pretty cool. Could be interesting to try with the 6 inch pieces of basswood I have cut for the 5 minute wizards.

Gnomes hate to be idle. That's why they keep disappearing. They're off either causing trouble or fixing things. Never can tell with gnomes.

That's a good lookin' gnome, Tom. Mind if I give one a try?

Tom,
Nice job on your gnome. I think the reason they keep disappearing is because they keep seeing all of the gnome house on the message board and they are out trying to locate them.
Tom, nice job on the carving and the painting. Never done one myself but after seeing this little guy I just may have to.

Safe Carving and God Bless,

Mark

That's a neat little gnome, Tom. I can see why they disappear. I'll have to try one of those some time.
