Default A new friend

Well, I have been in Billings Mt. for a few months now since my move from N.Carolina.I took the advice of some of the board members and looked up Alex Bisso. He sells cottonwood bark.I didn't contact him for the bark but just to meet a fellow carver in an area I am new to.He took me for a tour around his house and I was very impressed with his bark supply. The best part was he showed me all of his carvings and projects he is involved in.It was a great experience for me because he is a very talented carver and very good in different types of carving. He gave me the best directions to get home and that was driving at the top of what is called the "Rims".It was dark out and I could see all of Billings. It was a great sight. He invited me back to carve anytime with him.I am still in the collecting wood mode and finding my way around.I just wanted to share this with ya'll because I have not been on the board lately.

Davy it was good hearing from you via a email plus reading here about your area now where you live. Not alot has changed around here really,Just a new knotty pine wall in the living room and a new gas fireplace with a mantel. Im trying to carve alittle in the round but find it pretty hard but will keep trying.
Get going on some bark carvings, would enjoy seeing some you have done when you get time.

Take care and keep in touch with us all here. Forrest

Some one with wood...keep in touch with that fella. I have numerous friends and neighbors calling me to come pick up wood. It's the one cost for this hobby I've been able to keep down to I can purchase more tools.
