Nice work - I think the wood has too prominent a grain for that particular subject - just my opinion.

the mass salmon run in the moose antler. I have a shed antler and have been wondering what to do with it. NOW I know. I hope mine can even come close to your work.

Thank you Kelley, I must agree with you. I might try again with a peice of black walnut. However.....I like how it turned out, and am pleased with the walnut danish oil and clear gloss wood finish I wish I could take a picture to show the depth of this carving, I think I am at about an inch total depth to the background in a 2 inch peice of wood, sure was fun carving even though i broke 3 of the birch trees 3 times lol.
