Default New carving club forming in WV-VA

Groozier and I are starting a club and would like to invite anyone in the area to join. We are currently meeting in Princeton, WV on Monday evenings at Neighbors Arts Crafts & Hobbies in the old Shooters building. Our main goal is to get together and have fun carving, no matter what kind of carving you prefer. If you have any questions or want directions give one of us a shout. The name will be East River Mountain Carving Club. Hope to see some of you there!
Jeff

If you're in the area and looking for a place to relax, have a good time talking and carving, join us on Mondays.

Hey guys! Congratulations on getting started with the club! I know the last time I talked to Jeff you said that you were trying to find somewhere to meet. Get the word out and I'm sure you will have some people show. I think ours started with just 6 people and are now up to about 15 and we had Gary Falin at the club in the spring for our first class. Spread the word and good luck with getting it going. Maybe I can come up and visit sometime!

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. We had about 5 carving tonight. One more came to visit and was looking at the tools he would need to start. A couple more I spoke with were interested and may come soon. We talked about setting up at some of the local street fairs and such to gather some interest for beginners. I hope some of the old timers of defunct clubs can be reached by word of mouth. Most I talk with admit to missing their carving friends.
Mark, we may call you some day for a class! Blake, come on up any time! If we ever do anything close to Richlands on a weekend, Lance or I will give you a call. You can come join us and it wouldn't be too far for you.
