Dear everyone, I am not sure I called my post correctly but I have had an idea tormenting me long in my mind. So, it'd be great to hear your ideas. As I can see in Calendar of Events and some posts on the Forum (and other ones too) there are very many carving events of different sort. But are they all only for the native people of the country? Is there any chance for a foreigner like me to participate? Has anyone ever had a joint project making carvings with his foreign partner and then say having a 2-men show, etc? These things have been my dream so I dared to ask![]() And I'd be very grateful for your sharing ideas and experience ![]() Dmitry |

Yes, Dmitry, I have collaborated with an artist in Italy to produce a carved/inlay piece. We did not have a joint show of our work, but displayed it in a U.S. gallery for a while.

For the shows, it depends on the show. Some shows allow mail-in entries, and others do not. I know of no restrictions at any show in the US that says only US citizens can enter. Most shows charge a fee to enter carvings in their contests, and most also charge for a table if someone wants to set up a display and sell carvings. There are a lot of carving shows in the US and Canada, and I have seen advertisements for several in the UK. There may be some in other countries, but I have not seen announcements. Claude |

If you want to participate in a group carve, see the post "Hillbilly Reunion" I doubt that those folks would restrict anyone from participating -- they even let me in!!! LMiller |
