Question I need to know what other carvers do about this - catch chips??

I have a workshop/Mancave where I carve and make my fishing Plugs but I also like to do a lot of carving in my living room while everyone is watching tv. What do you all use to catch your chips/shavings? I recline in my chair and have been using a towel on my lap to catch the shaving. I then just shake it out when done or if I have to get up. I still have wood chips everywhere esspecially when 1 of my 3 dogs jump on my lap. They track the chips everywhere and also like to eat them. My wife is getting a little cranky about the mess.
Do they make a piece of fabric with a ring like around it for support? I will have to draw a scetch and maybee make what I am thinking about.
Thanks and hope you will share your thoughts.

Also, if you do a search on "catch chips", you should be able to see some previous discussions - > like these:

Acarvers apron will do the job nicely, it has a pouch athat catches ALL the chips, worked good for me when I had to work upstairs while recuperating from surgery.

Reckon I'm too cheap to make an apron...so I bought a Fleece backed PVC tablecloth at the Dollar Store (biggest one they carried was like 4 X 5) and just spread it across my lap....if it goes bad, I just spend another $1.

I use a beach towel, the knapp catches most of the chips. Those that get away I get up with a Shark hand vac my daughter got me for my birthday.

I had the very best portable chip catcher ever, and it never failed me. When I got sugar, I lost it, and it has not been found to this day. I am refering to that natural shelf that one may have when one sits in a chair. That area above the lap and below the chin. That worked for me! But all is not lost! I have discovered that the floor might even be a better chip catcher....

I am lucky to have a hard wood floor. I sit in an office chair and let them fall to the floor.I keep a broom and dust pan in the room and sweep it up every so often during the session.

I use the lid off of one of my wife's Avon boxes.
