I would like to make a project that would use some pierced tracery but I'm not sure how the gothic pierced tracery is put together. Are there any books that discribe how that is accomplished? I have seen plenty of pictures but haven't found any how to.

Well CarverRog,,all the pieces I've done were out of one panel that had either been cut with a scroll saw or saber saw.The rest is then just carved with regular chisels and gouges. At times, certain flourishes such as fleur de lea (spelling?) are separate pieces and glued on,,but for the most part they are just pierced and carved.I am assuming you are referring to the traditional Gothic style tracery,,they are all done the same,,just that this is the most popular.
