Default Need help on fish fins

Hi Everyone; I am trying to do better on my fish fins so in checking around I have inserted Osage Orange thorns as the spines on the dorsal fin. I was told by someone too then put tissue paper over them to give it a nice thin look. I am having lots of trouble with that.Sure hope someone out there can help me in this task. I will post a picture if and when I get it finished Thanks
Gary

When I used to make model aircraft, we would glue tissue paper to the balsa frame members as tightly as we could with white glue, let the glue dry and then paint it with a 50/50 mix of water and white glue. As the solution dried it would tighten the tissue paper right up. Before doing it on a fish, I would try a few practice runs with toothpicks or something along that line in scrap wood. Hope this is helpful. You might get a few tips from a hobby shop as well. BTW this glue coated tissue paper took paint very well.
