This is PaPa Smurf, I've been down sick for a while now, I had just started caving when I went down, anyway I lost may best friend, who love me more then anything in the world, she would sleep next to me on the floor each night, when I left the house, she would lay in the driveway and wait for my return, can't remember ever coming home, and not have her jumping and running around me, and on trash day, she would not let me forget, for that was the day she got a ride, for I would always take her around the block...each time I came in the door she was there with the ball in her mouth and that trail singing back forward, <bet we wish the wife would that>....she was there for 14 and a half years,....I have layed to rest in the front yard where she like to lay for hours watching over the yard.....I need a drawing. front and side.....I have a 4X4 i would like to cut a head out of the top....inorder to make a head marker.......can anyone help me out she was a cocker spaniel...

Sorry to hear of your loss Smurf. My wife and I can really relate. I looked through my colection of dog patterns and unfortunately a cocker spaniel is one that I don't have. I've got some hound dogs, poddles, puppies and scotty dogs so if you run into a complete brick wall and think that you might be able to modify a pattern let me know.

I lost my special assistance dog, darn that dog was everything to me..... I feel that there are things in life that you need to grieve for, and you should never stuff feeling inside your body. Only time and feeling the pain will help you make closure. Now I have closure....I have this great big photo of me laying on floor, and him sleeping next to me.....I really miss him, but life moves on. sorry, warm hugs from the islands...

Pets become family members and their passing is a very sad time.I lost an old cat last year and it was hard. Sorry I do not have any patterns to help you. Bruce

Sorry about the loss of your doggie friend PaPa Smurf. It's tough losing pets, they certainly are like family. I don't have a pattern for you but I'm sure you will find one or some nice carver on here will help you out. Best regards. Paul

You might want to Google the pictures of dogs that look the most like the one that you lost and then run the photo's through IrFanView's edge detection feature to convert them to one line drawings. I was able to come up with a fair side view and even though it's hard to come up with an exact front view with just a little creativity with your pencil you should be able to modify what ever you can find.

I have a picture I can burn in, but I was hoping to carve her head out of a 4x4 and use it as a mark

If you have a picture of her that you can upload, I'm sure we can get it turned into a line drawing and sent back to you. Should make it easier to mark up your 4x4, makes cutting away the waste wood quicker. Sorry about your loss. |
