Also looking for Â*connectors and brass feruels besides the small amount at treeline. Thanks |

Big Wayne Try http://www.basswoodproducts.com/catalog_4.html I have not purchased from this company but I have been thinking of trying to carve My Father-in-laws family tree up the side of a cane and I think basswood cane blank would be easier than my usual poplar or cherry dowel rod with a carved topper. Anyway they look like they got what your asking for. Ah Chip (fellow cane carver) PS: |

Thanks Chip They have very close to what I am searching for. The heads and toppers are actually part of the stick blanks they are selling. I may order a couple and try and see if i can sell them. after I have carved somethin in it and finished it. Right now I am making the country style sticks and canes. I use tree limbs so the shape and size of each are unique. I am just learning the art of carving wood spirits so I try and put a spirit on on my sticks. No 2 spirits come out exactly the same. I did see a dog and a wolf stick that I liked. I wonder how the basswood would hold up as an everyday stick in the weather after it was sanded, stained, and several coats of pollyurathene applied and a rubber tip. |
