Default need advise

hi guys-these are my first set of carvings.just started a couple of months ago.any suggestions for making these better.thanks-ken

Good stuff! The flowers look very nice, I like the flowing lines! You sure are doing a good job on the noses on the ornaments....took me forever to get the hang of that. Just keep on carving!

Just kept carving and each time try adding something new to the carving.

Man I couldn't come near that on my first attempts. You did a great job carving the faces. They resemble a few of my friends. Only suggestion is to water down the red paint. My eyes go right to the red in the first Santa instead of to the face. But that's me. You nailed the relief carving. The flow and clean cuts show the shadows and really make it pop. Keep up the good work.

Ken,

For first carvings, I think you've done very well. The relief is very well executed and my only advice is to continue to add more detail in subsequent carvings. The Santa ornaments look good also. Study carvings by more advanced carvers, and as has been said before, practice, practice and practice.
