Default Navy Santa

This is what came out of my head, when my daughter asked me to carve a Santa for a Santa collector who has ties with the US Navy.
The Santa is aprox. 7" high. The Santa is from a modified Wayne Shinlever pattern. I Googled Navy officer hat for reference, and the same thing for the anchor.
The hat and hands were all done separately. The hands were glued in place. The hat is held in place by screw that comes from the back.
Santa glued to base along with the anchor.
Painted with acrylics, then Krylon Crystal Clear flat.
Questions or comments welcome
Carl

Nice work Carl. Should make a navy man happy. Nice clean cuts, and a very nice paint job.

Thank You, Tom and Bob for the kind remarks.
This was a real learning Experience for me. I did the hands separate because I knew it would be hard to get the right pose holding the hat I think I carved about 5 hands to get two that I could use. I made a clay model of hat before I did it in wood.
I don't normally sand my carvings, but I made a exception on the hat.
