Default Native American War Shield Wall Plaques

I've just started a new and different kind of project on my Blog you might find interesting. While the frames are the most difficult part the carving is really quite easy and you can really have some fun in coming up with your own design. Here are two of mine.

Each plaque measures 11-1/2" by 13-1/2" and as it's all 3D relief it really looks colorful and classy hanging on the wall. I guarantee all your relative will want one. Comments welcome as usual.

Very nice, Lynn. I too have become fascinated by Native American designs (as mentioned in another thread). Some of the present Pacific NW designs combine relief & incised carving with traditional colors.

Hi Lynn:
Looks great, what you did with your shields is very close to what I was planning for my 'Good Hand' carving. I'm kicking around incorporating some barb-wire attached between the carving and the outer area of the frame. I was thinking of using black or navy blue felt behind the Indian Cowboy such as you show. Not sure if that is what you used? I'll have to get over to your Blog.

Great looking carvings and I can see lots of possibilites for future works such as this for you.
Sometimes, we need to stretch our creativity and do something a little different. Super Job!
Kathy
