Default Native American Finished

Well, I finally finished this project it was a tough go a first but once I got all the hogging out done it wasn't bad carving. It is freewood from my sons woods- poplar. I used my usual mix of an inch or so of burnt umber oil paint to 1 cup mineral spirits. I put four coats of deft semi gloss and I haven't waxed it. I have mainly carved catalpa and bass would and I think they are easier to carve, but big wood costs big bucks so free is good for now. comments always welcome. Thanks for lookin.

Nice work, Feb! Poplar tends to be pretty hard, but does hold detail well.

Thanks all for your comments, about half way through I was ready to chuck it. I'm glad I stuck with it.
