You did well FEB the indian is a very good carving. Well finished..
I recently early in the year had a class with Stu Martin he does lots of different Native Americans and he told us of his finishing techniques. He uses burnt sienna (oil) 4 inches mixed with 1/4 cup thinner and then a pint of danish oil all mixed togeather puts it on and then uses oil paints to do all the rest of the hair and or braids of the indian, all wet on wet then sprays on deft as it is still wet... I have done two different Indians this way. I will have to take pics and put online...
