Default NA Indian with Bandana

Here's another mantle size carving. I just did a light wash to bring out his bandana, and put oil on the rest of him to bring out the grain on the basswood.

Patrick,

Nice carving. What kind of oil did you put on it? Do you mean boiled linseed oil? Or is it something else?

Yes the oil is boiled linseed oil. Basswood takes oil really well I find. Since posting the pictures, I have added dark satin wax which really brings out his features and adds a different tone to the skin.

I chose to leave his eyes as is. Since adding the dark satin wax, it brought out his eyes even more....and given the size of the eyes, it looks pretty good without burning or painting in the pupils.
