I have the same problem-ADD-i will work on several different carvings at the same time and have a bunch of rough-out already cut out and then some blocks already to be cut. i wll usually have one bird two caricatures and a couple of staffs on the go at one time. my wife always wants to know what i'm going to do with all the wood.lucky for me she never goes in the attic of the garage. I posted new pictures in picturetrail 3birds,1caracature,and 1new hiking stick topper

Colin I get sidetracked also. The only way I stayed buckled down on a certain carving is when I'm doing one for someone. I do tend to go back and finish them after time though. So far I have only lost one imcompleted carving, your post made me realize it. Hmmmm : |

| Well back when I had a shop to carve in regularly I kept several carvings going at the same time . Sometimes I would reach a portion of the carving that I was unsure how to proceed , so I picked up another till the answer came to me . Other times I just simply got bored with what I was doing and if you get bored or to tired thats when accidents happen that result in bleeding or gluing back the piece I just inadvertently cut off . Only once did I start a piece and not put it down till I could not keep my eyes open only to pick it back up and finish it the next day. It was a fireman complete with air mask, tank and nozzle and hose , inspired by how I felt after the house fire the first morning , the boots on the carving are proportionate to how they felt the day before huge and heavy |
