Smile My Stuff!

Over the past 37 I have had many hobbies. For the last 27 or so I have been involved with woodcarving, for 20 of those very involved. Prior to that it was model ship building. For the last 7 years I have been building wooden aircraft dioramas for the Canada Aviation Museum in Ottawa. It has been a rich and very rewarding experience that I would like to share with you guys if that is OK ? ! John.

We have at least one ship builder on here, don't know of any aircraft builders. Very nice carving, John, please share more.

I second all of the above..... Wonderful work. The scene reminds me of carvings I have seen on very old coo coo clocks (I know there has to be a better way to spell that...sorry) One often saw a fox with a rabbit kill or a bird of prey with a mouse, etc....... very traditional. Great piece of work. Please let us see more.

Wow! thanks guys for this wonderful response to my work. The picture is of a life size Goshawk and Eastern Flicker composition .I like to call it "Sacked" as in when you "sack" the quarter back in football. The intensity just reminds me of the defensive linebacker position.I like to think that the hawk got destracted and the flicker recovered and walked away.
